In an interview he gave to the Young Eagle Magazine, Beşiktaş’s new midfielder Roberto Hilbert answered the questions posed by fan club members Kartal Karaduman and Esra Tosun, who visited the German player at the BJK Nevzat Demir Sports Complex.

I sincerely believe that our team will take the league title at the end of the season. In fact, I came here for this very specific reason. After so many noteworthy achievements in Bundesliga, I want to repeat the same here. We definitely have a talented bunch of players here.  Guti, Quaresma and Nihat Kahveci are all internationally known stars, and you cannot go wrong when you have them on your line-up. Besides hoping to go as far as we can in the Europa League, we are all focused on one specific goal, to lift the League Cup at the end of the season,” said Roberto.          
 
In response to a question about the reasons why chose football over other professions, the left-flank midfielder replied, “I first took up football as a hobby, but my big brother insisted that I should look into it more seriously, so I followed his advice and here I am. I love this sport but my family always comes first.”
