Beşiktaş players, İbrahim Toraman, Guti and Ferrari reflected on their impressive win against MKE Ankaragücü:
Captain İbrahim Toraman: “The real credit should be given to Tabata for my goal. He took a perfect shot, and all I had to do is just to touch it. But as long as we keep on wining, it doesn’t matter who scores.”Matteo Ferrari: “Actually, Ankaragücü is a much better team than the score indicates. They have a bunch of talented players and defended well until we scored. That goal took the pressure off from our shoulders and helped us play with more confidence and motivation, cutting down on our passing mistakes along the way. If we didn’t find the net in the first half, it would be real difficult to crack their defence in the second half. All in all, we played great game tonight.”
Jose Maria Guti Hernandez: “When you have so many fans behind you, it is difficult to lose because they keep pushing you forward. They are like our 12th man on the pitch. With their non-stop cheering, they played a crucial role in our win tonight. We, as a team, are also doing everything to be worthy of their support. I am glad that my teammates are making use of passes. This team is going to get better as the season moves along.”
