Karabükspor 1 – 4 Beşiktaş

On Day 3 of the Turkish Spor Toto Super League, Beşiktaş won 4-1 away to Kardemir Karabükspor with goals from Nobre (10’, 26’), Guti (pen.77’) and Quaresma (83’).

The match at the Dr. Necmettin Şeyhoğlu Stadium was refereed by Tolga Özkalfa.
The newly-promoted home side started strong and took the lead through Emenike just after 3 minutes. Yet the Eagles’ response was swift; as they pulled level with a Nobre strike seven minutes later. Nobre was not done however; he scored his second with a bullet header on 26 minutes and made it 2-1 for Beşiktaş. The Black and White defence led by young keeper Cenk Gönen, who turned another brilliant performance in goal, successfully fended off all Karabükspor’s attacks in the remainder of the half and carried a one-goal advantage into the intermission.
The second half was all Beşiktaş, as their relentless pressure won them a penalty in the 77th minute when Quaresma was brought down inside the box. Guti made no mistake with his shot and put the game out of reach of the home squad. Few moments later, Manager Schuster sent in Holosko and Bobo for Tabata and Nobre to play out the rest of the match, but seven minutes before the end, Beşiktaş’s untameable Quaresma dribbled past almost the entire Karabükspor defence and flicked the ball over the sliding keeper Tomiç to register his team’s fourth goal. There were no further scoring opportunities in the remaining minutes; as Beşiktaş held out for an impressive 4-1 win to collect all three points.
