“Despite the odds, Vikingur played real hard tonight, especially in defence; but we had been training for this match for the past three weeks, so, in line with our game plan, we took control early and never let it go. Some may say, we are not fully ready for the new season, but it’s still too soon to pass any judgment on the team. We are definitely going to get better in the weeks to come. 
I don’t want to be at the centre of attention just because I scored two goals. Football is a team sport, and as far as I’m concerned, every Eagle played his heart out and was a star tonight.”
