Hilbert Joins Beşiktaş

Beşiktaş has added Roberto Hilbert to its line up after the midfielder from Bundesliga side Sttutgart signed a 3-year contract with the Black and White.

The signing ceremony took place at the Nevzat Demir Sports Complex and attended by the Head of Beşiktaş Football Committee Serdar adalı and Committee Member Cengiz Zülfikaroğlu.
During the ceremony the German player was in good spirits and added: “I am honored to sign for such a big club as Beşiktaş. I know the board and the fans have high expectations of me and I’ll do my best to meet them.  I am quite familiar with the Turkish culture and traditions quite well because my best friend is Turkish. Therefore, I don’t think I will have any adaptation problems here. I was also born to a community which had a lot of Turkish immigrants and I grew up with them. To top it all, I know Ersen Martin, who plays in Turkey, in person. Famous Turkish players such as Hakan Sukur and Rustu Reçber are not strangers to me. Playing for a German manager is a huge advantage for me because we share the same language and goals.
The Head of Beşiktaş Football Committee Serdar Adalı also expressed his thoughts on the subject: “I believe we’ve acquired a consistent player. He is going to be with us for the next 3 years. We’ve been watching him closely for some time. He is going to be perfect fit for us. It looks we are going to have all-German midfield this season.  He can play both wings, something you don’t get to see too often these days.”
After the ceremony, Hilbert, wearing his number 9 Beşiktaş jersey, posed to the photographers.
