Beşiktaş Cola Turka 88, Efes Pilsen 96

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball dropped out of the title race after falling to Efes Pilsen, 98-86, at the BJK Cola Turka Arena in Game 3 of its semifinal series that effectively ended the season for the Eagles.

The blue and white visitors took command early as they held the Black and White without a basket for the first four minutes of the game during a 16-0 run. The Eagles eventually found their offensive rhythm and started chipping away at the deficit but still trailed 22-17 heading into the second.
After Brad Newley made a layup to start the second stanza, Fletcher followed him with a three-pointer from the deep left corner to tie the score at 22 all. From then onward, the teams swapped baskets until the end, with Beşiktaş Cola Turka nursing a slim 46-45 lead at the halftime intermission.
The score remained close until the midway point of the third quarter. From there, the hot-shooting Efes Pilsen ran away with it, opening up an eleven-point, 67-56, cushion after three periods of hotly-contested play.
Despite falling behind by 13 at one point, the Black Eagles, facing elimination, gave everything they got in the fourth and managed to pull within four, 80-76, with under 4:00 to go. But the remaining minutes saw Efes Pilsen hang on to that lead to emerge with a comfortable 96-88 victory.
The win gave the visitors a 3-0 series lead and sent them to the finals while the Eagles postponed their championship hopes until the next season.
