Mustafa Denizli’s Post-Match Quotes

Following Beşiktaş’s 2-0 victory over Manisaspor, Beşiktaş Manager Mustafa Denizli shared his thoughts in a press conference:

\"We couldn’t celebrate tonight’s win in the dressing room because we were all saddened by Rıdvan’s injury. He not only broke his ankle but also tore some ligaments and might not be ready for the next season on time. These types of injuries take long time to heal. Our prayers will be with him at all times. This is our eight broken-foot injury we suffered this season. How can a team be successful with some many serious injuries? We’ve sure had no luck on this department this season. Sivok also sustained an injury on his operated knee, and I had to take him out when his pain increased. He is now in hospital for a check-up. Although we are out of the title race picture, we are going to keep on fighting until the end of our final match. These games give us a good chance to review our plans for the next year, so the score is not that all important. They help our rebuilding process. Our players also know that there isn’t much time left for them to prove themselves, so they are trying to make the best of it. We just want to go out play like Beşiktaş should play.  If we see our fans filling the stands and backing us up, we play better. Tonight, there weren’t too many fans out there, but they were very vocal so it felt like we were playing in front of a packed stadium. They’ve been enjoying our recent performance because we never give up and fight until the final whistle. All in all, it was a pretty game to watch for everyone.\"
