Beşiktaş 2-0 Manisaspor

In the opening match of Turkcell Super League Week 33, the Black and White proved their dominance at İnönü Stadium again with two quick second half goals that inspired them to a 2-0 win at home to Manisaspor.

Pinning Manisapor’s  defence deep in their own half from the opening whistle, the Eagles poured forward early on with Tello and Ismail Kuyubaşı setting up strikers Nihat Kahveci and Bobo with well-placed crosses from the left. But Manisapor keeper İlker Avcıbay stood tall in the net as he pulled off a number of remarkable saves to keep the scores level. After Fink pounded the visitors’ goal post with a hard drive, Beşiktaş defender Rıdvan Şimşek sustained a broken ankle in the 41st minute and had to be replaced by 16-year-old Atınç Nukan. The Black and White did not take their feet off the gas pedal during the remaining minutes but could not break the deadlock. The teams were goalless at half time.
Manager Mustafa Denizli started the second half with Ernst and İbrahim Üzülmez for Sivok and Tabata to keep up the pressure. The tactic would pay off handsomely after 69 minutes when Nihat converted on a trough-pass from Ismail Kuyubaşı with a nice finish. Two minutes later, the visiting side’s defender Hüseyin Tok, trying to clear off İbrahim Üzülmez long pass, sent the ball into his own net and made it 2-0 for Beşiktaş. Manisaspor could not recover from the shock of the two quick goals and started attacking aimlessly while the Eagles had no trouble fending them off to cruise to a 2-0 victory.
