Beşiktaş Cola Turka 90, Turk Telekom 100

In Game 2 of its quarterfinal series, Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball fell 100-90 to Turk Telekom at the Cola Turka Arena last night.

The teams exchanged baskets throughout the opening quarter with the visitors from the Capital City clinging to a 25-23 edge going into the second. The second stanza saw the Turk Telekom impose its authorirty and stretch the lead to 11 points, 50-39, at the halfway point. The Black Eagles finally showed some signs of life in closing minutes of first half as they cut the deficit to 52-46 before entering the locker room for the break. 
The Black and White tried hard to close the gap in the third, but the Turk Telekom refused to get caught and extended the margin to 12 points, 69-57, near to the end. Nevertheless, a late rally brought Beşiktaş Cola Turka to within 73-71 with one quarter to play.
The Eagles remained within striking distance for most of the fourth, but a sudden surge of Turk Telekom threes left them behind by eight points at 89-81 midway through the quarter.  The visitors continued to stay hot as they pushed their advantage to 92-81 with 3:12 to go in the game. The Black and White regrouped and managed to trim the deficit back to five points down the stretch, only to see the visitors make no mistake on their free throws to walk away with a comfortable 100-90 victory.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka won both regular season games against the Turk Telekom so the loss evened up the series at 1-1. Game 3 of the best of five series will be played in Ankara on Sunday.
