After the national finals, Beşiktaş board members and the coach and players of Beşiktaş beach volley teams got together at a special luncheon on Sunday. During the luncheon, Beşiktaş board members stressed that Beşiktaş women’s and men’s beach volley teams had achieved another first in Turkish sports.  

Beşiktaş Deputy-Chairman and Member of Football Committee Mr. Emin Önal hosted a luncheon to celebrate the fresh achievements of Club’s beach volleyball squads, who finished first and second at the nationals.
Board Member Responsible for Amateur Sports, Associations and Investments Doğan Küçükemre and Board Member Responsible for Amateur Sports Necip Ersever, Coach Onur Ergenç and players Hatice Can Korucu, İzolda Körfez, Hakan and Volkan Göğtepe attented the luncheon.
After a congratulatory opening speech by Emin Öcal,  Doğan Küçükemre thanked the players of both teams one-by-one for puting in a commendable effort during the 4week-tournament held and said, “ We are thrilled to be named the first ever women’s champion  in Turkish beach volleyball.I am sure this championship will be become more popular as the new teams join in.”  
“It is nice to see our ladies capture the first ever beach volley league title in Turkey and achieve a first in our club’s history. I also would like express my appreciation to our men’s team  for the great effort they put in. They  played hard every match  and deserved to win  the title more than anyone else, but there is always next year; we are going to comeback stronger,  ” added Mr. Necip Ersever.    
 The coach of both teams Onur Ergenç also shared his thoughts, “We were real close to winning both titles, but little mistakes cost us the men’s final. My thanks go to Beşiktaş Chairman Yıldırım Demirören and members of our volleyball section, who spared no effort in making all these a reality.   
 
The players of the champion women’s team İzolda Körfez and Hatice Can Korucu were overjoyed with the outcome.
İzolda Körfez: “It was a tiresome tournament, but we managed to come on top at the end. Every match, we gave everything we got. No word is sufficent to experss my feelings right now. It is great to be a champion.” 
Hatice Can Korucu: “What can be greater than getting into the record books as the first ever beach volley title holder. Let’s not forget this League is also the first of its kind in the word  I thank our Chairman Yıldırım Demirören and all our directors for their support.”
