In a post-match press conference, Beşiktaş Manager Mustafa Denizli gave his thoughts on his team’s performance:

“Ankaragücü is as tough team with a bunch of talented foreign players. They made a sluggish start to the season, but now, they are on the right track and extremely difficult to beat—especially on their home ground.
They had some serious chances, so we could’ve lost here tonight and ended up with no points at all. I must admit I am not complaining too much about the one point we got from this match. My players gave everything they had out there but couldn’t change the scoresheet. It was a real battle for both sides. A win here would be great lift but didn’t happen. We will see whether this draw is a loss or gain for us at the end of the week.
If we want to capture the title at the end of the season, we’ve got to win away from home. Now, we have reached a point where we cannot afford to drop any more points at home or away.
I know, missing some of our key players tonight had somewhat affected our play negatively; but if we are going to win this race, we are going to win it with all our players, so each of them should be ready at all times.”
