Ceyhan Municipality 75, Beşiktaş Cola Turka 77

In a hotly-contested Week 19 game at Adana Ceyhan Sports Hall, the visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball squeezed out a 77-75 triumph over the Ceyhan Municipality.

After Jessica Mary Ellen Foley nailed a three-pointer and Lauren Rochelle Ervin made a layup to start the game, the home team got a pair of buckets from İlkay Maşa and Michelle Marie Cambell to jump in front 10-4. But Nykesha Simone Sales and Gergena Branzova Erdenay hit back-to-back jumpers for Beşiktaş Cola Turka to tie the score at 10 apiece. Then, despite a long trey by Lauren Rochelle Ervin, the Lady Eagles put together a 9-0 run to take a 6 point lead entering the final minute. A Kelly Silva Santos layup closed the scoring in the opening quarter and gave Beşiktaş a 21-15 edge after one.

The teams traded baskets at the start of the second, and the Eagles led 27-19 midway through the quarter. Lauren Rochelle Ervin teamed up with İlkay Maşa to bring Ceyhan Municipality within 30-28 with two minutes remaining. But Esra Erden connected on two consecutive three-pointers and Kelly Silva Santos followed with a short jumper to put the Eagles up, 38-30, going into the locker room at the break.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka opened the second half with a three by Esra Erden and stretched its advantage to eleven points. Although, the Lady Eagles had a hard time containing the sure-handed Lauren Rochelle Ervin, Esra Erden and their international players kept the Black and White safely ahead.  With 3:28 left in the third, Nykesha Simone Sales drove to the hoop for a layup to make it 56-48 for Beşiktaş Cola Turka. However, a string of baskets by Jessica Mary Ellen Foley, Tuğba Kılınç and Crystal Marie Smith brought Ceyhan Municipality within 58-62 with one quarter left in the game.
After Michelle Marie Campbell and Kelly Silva Santos exchanged buckets to open the scoring in the final stanza, the teams stayed within a few points of each other for most of the fourth quarter. An Asena Yalçın three-pointer pulled the host team to 68-63 at the halfway point. Then, Michelle Marie Campbell and Crystal Marie Smith each knocked down a jumper to knot the score at 70 and force a Beşiktaş timeout. While the Black and White tried to get back on track, Nykesha Simone Sales and Crystal Marie Smith continued to pour it in for Ceyhan Municipality. The Lady Eagles looked in serious trouble until Sandra Mandir woke them uo with a couple of clutch 3-point shot. But, with 5 seconds to go in the game, the resilient Ceyhan tied it up once again, this time on a short jumper from Michelle Marie Campbell. On the ensuing possession, after Nykesha Simone Sales missed a three-pointer from the left wing, Sandra Mandir rebounded and sank her shot before the buzzer to give Beşiktaş Cola Turka a 77-75 victory on the road.
