Denizlispor 0 -1 Beşiktaş

Thanks to a 41st-minute Holosko goal, Beşiktaş won 1-0 away to Denizlispor at Atatürk Stadium on Matchday 25 of the Turkcell Super League and climbed to 3rd place with 51 points.

The Black Eagles entered the pitch with a banner that read, “Organ donation saves lives,” in support of the Turkish Kidney Foundation. A vocal group of travelling Beşiktaş fans cheered the Black and White on throughout the 90 minutes refereed by Abdullah Yılmaz.
Fully aware of the importance of this match, Beşiktaş focused mainly on defence during the opening 15 minutes. After weathering the Denizlispor’s early storm, the Eagles began to come out of their nests and controlled the majority of the possessions. Meanwhile, the Black and White’s veteran keeper Rüştü Reçber pulled off some superb saves in goal to keep his sheet clean. Four minutes before the intermission, Beşiktaş’s Slovakian International Holosko put the visitors ahead during a goalmouth scrimmage and closed out the scoring for the first half.
Unable to unlock the visitors’ solid defence through the middle, the home side turned to long crosses from the flanks for most of the second half but couldn’t get anything going in the air. Throwing everyone forward, Denizlispor searched desperately for an equaliser in the final minutes, only to see Beşiktaş bring on defensive midfielders Fabian Ernst and Necip Uysal for Fink and İbrahim Üzülmez ten minutes from full time and shut the door completely. At the end of a hard-fought 90 minutes, the Black and Whites ran out 1-0 winners and raised their point tally to 51 to move up to third place on the table.
