In a press conference held after the match, Beşiktaş Manager evaluated his team’s performance:

“Although we had more than usual number of defenders on our line up, we never ceased attacking tonight. To keep our title hopes alive, this was a crucial match for us, so we had to be cautious right from the start. Good thing we scored first, because if you fall behind against Kayseri on this turf, they play great defence and won’t let you comeback. It would be a vey long day for us, and we could get a draw at the best just like the other contenders did here. If you set your game strategy right, it doesn’t matter who is on your starting line-up. All our defenders are capable of playing offense on a given day, provided that they change their frame of mind when they get the ball. Our defender İbrahim Toraman could’ve scored few more goals for us if he was a little bit more careful with the ball. We failed to capitalize on 3-4 good changes. But let’s forget, in terms of conceding goals, they have the second-best record after us, so squeezing out three points here is no small thing.”
