Kayserispor:1Beşiktaş:2

A balanced offensive attack and a strong defensive effort across the board proved to be a winning combination for the visiting Black Eagles, as they toppled the formidable Kayseri City side 2-1 at  Kadir Has Stadium on Turkcell Super League Matchday 23.

Entering the pitch with a banner that read, “Save Your Future by Paying Your Taxes,” the Black and Whites made a lively start and were ahead after just two minutes. Chilean midfielder Rodrigo Tello sent Ekrem Dağ’s cross into home team’s net with a vicious low drive inside the box to put Beşiktaş a goal up. Before Kayseripor had a chance to react to Tello’s shocking goal, the Eagles, inspired by the early lead, shifted into an even higher gear and were knocking at the door again in the 16th minute, but Bobo’s close-range effort hit the post and went out. Unable to get any offense going, the home side replaced defender Bayram Çetin with the speedy Australian forward James Troisi after 21 minutes to bolster up front. The substitution seemed to rejuvenate Kayserispor, but it was the visitors who would get on the scoresheet again. Ekrem Dağ slammed home a shot that past a diving Souleymanou on 30 minutes to double the Black and White’s advantage and wrap up the scoring for the first half.
The yellow and reds made another change at the start of the second half and brought on forward Gökhan Emreciksin for midfielder Furkan Çetin in search of an early goal but were unable to unlock a solid Beşiktaş defence marshalled by Ferrari and Sivok. The Eagles’ stubborn defence started from the front line and forced Kayserispor into poor passing and rushed shots. As the match marched on, Filip Holosko and Necip Uysal entered for Tello and Fabian Ernst to wear down Kayseri and ride out the remaining minutes. Nevertheless, the home squad managed to reduce the deficit to one, when Makakula beat keeper Rüştü Reçber during a break away initiated by a through pass from Shawky with nine minutes left on the clock. In the remainder of game, Kayseripor attacked desperately to find the equaliser, but Beşiktaş stood firm and emerged as 2-1 victors
