Botaş Spor 77, Beşiktaş Cola Turka 74

In Week 14 of the Beko Turkish Basketball League, the visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball dropped a close one to Botaş Spor, 77-74, at the Menders Sports Hall.

The Lady Eagles opened the game on a 6-0 run only to see Botaş come back with consecutive layups to tie it up. From then on, teams swapped baskets till the end with the Black and White clinging to a one-point, 21-20, advantage heading into the second. Inspired by a solid defense, the home team caught fire at the onset of the second, scoring 10 straight points, on its way to a 47-38 first-half lead.
Botaş maintained momentum in the third, and thanks to a string of unanswered baskets by Jashay Prince, stretched the margin to 10-points, 61-51, at the halfway stage. In a bid to salvage the game, Beşiktaş Cola Turka staged a late rally behind an aggressive, full-court pressure attack and managed to close within 61-59 with one quarter to play. After Lynne Paris sank two free-throws for the home side to start the fourth, the Black and White tried hard to erase the deficit, but Botaş Spor fended off all Beşiktaş attempts to come away with a 77-74 victory.
