In their last Turkish Cup Group D match, the Black Eagles beat Konya Şekerspor 4-2 with goals from Nobre (3, 21) and Nihat Kahveci (16, 86).
The match was played at BJK Inonu Stadium and refereed by Hakan Özkan.The Black and White started off the match with a bang, with striker Nobre sending Nihat Kahveci’s deflected shot into an open Konya net as early as the third minute. Beşiktaş kept up the pressure and were rewarded for their hard work on 16 minutes when Nihat Kahveci buried home Holosko’s clever pass to double the home side’s lead. The Eagles were not done yet, as Nobre headed in Tabata’s free-kick five minutes later and gave the Black and White a commanding three-goal advantage before the visitors figured out what hit them. Konya Şekerspor eventually settled down and pulled one back through Cafercan in the 26th minute. Then, Necip Uysal scored an own-goal to make it 3-2 and finish up the scoring in the first half.
Beşiktaş once again came out strong in the second half, as they pressed on for an insurance goal right from the start. After Manager Mustafa Denizli substituted Tello and İbrahim Toraman for Holosko and Serdar Özkan, the Black and White created a flurry of chances but could not convert them. Young Cumali Bişi, making his first appearance for Beşiktaş, came in for Fink in the 83rd minute. Four minutes before full time, the heavy pressure finally paid off for Beşiktaş when Nihat Kahveci dribbled in the box from the right flank and launched a thunderous strike into the visitors’ net to put the cup tie out of reach at 4-2.
With this match, the Eagles concluded their Turkish Cup campaign for the season.
