In a press conference held after the Kasımpaşaspor match, Beşiktaş Manager Mustafa Denizli assessed his team’s performance:
“If you concede so many goals in such a short time, you have no chance of winning matches. That’s what happened tonight, and that’s the reason why walked off with our heads down. We have not been winning lately, in fact this our 6th match without a win. I hope this will be the last time we come-out empty-handed. If we want to stay in this race we have to get back on tract soon. Otherwise it will be too late. Our hard winter- break training is no excuse for tonight’s loss. In addition to those easy goals, the poor passing and lack of concentration on our part have made us look like an ordinary team out there, which we are not. No one should put the blame on our new keeper Ramazan for this loss, because this is his first official match with the team, and he needs a little more time to adapt to Beşiktaş style and get to know his teammates, especially in defence. I am sure he will get better as the season moves along.”
