Manisaspor 2- 1 Beşiktaş

The Black and White lost 2-1 away to Manisaspor in their Ziraaat Bank Turkish Cup Group D opener.

The cup tie at May 19 Stadium was refereed by Hüseyin Gökçeker.
The match started with both sides concentrating on offense, and it was Manisaspor who broke the deadlock with a 38th minute header from Simpson. The score stood 1-0 in favor of the home side at the interval.
Replacing Tabata and Ismail Köybaşı with forwards Yusuf Şimşek and Nobre, Beşiktaş came out for the second half like team that meant business and with the half barely into its third minute got the equaliser through Bobo’s clever finish. But Ergin Keleş restored Manisaspor’s lead on 61 minutes. The Eagles brought in Serdar Özkan for Tello in the 77th minute and had a plenty of chances to level the score in closing minutes only to be denied by a mixture of poor finishing and good goalkeeping by İker Avcıbay; as Manisa ran out 2-1 winners.
