Beşiktaş Manager Mustafa Denizli gave an honest assessment of his team’s performance after their 2-1 defeat to Manisaspor: 

“I must admit we did not fight as well as we should have out there tonight and did not match their aggressiveness and speed as we normally do, especially in the second half.
We should have slowed the game down and taken control after the equaliser, but for some unknown reasons, we panicked and committed too many defensive errors that cost us dearly in the end. In short, lack of aggressiveness and a lackluster defense led to our loss.
Nearly all of the balls coming out of the defence tonight went to a Manisaspor player that’s how they scored their second goal. We were expecting to lose here, but no one should be alarmed because we are going to qualify from this group ease.
Their goals came mainly from our keeper’s fault, but Korcan is a talented young player; and I am sure he will learn from his mistakes as the season moves along. We have no intention of blaming the loss solely on him.”
