Erdemir 82, Beşiktaş Cola Turka 88

Visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball pulled out an 88-82 victory over Erdemirspor in a Week 10 game at Erdemir Sports Hall.

The home team opened the game with a 6-0 run and stretched its lead to 18-0 on a series of jumpers by Adam Funk midway thru the quarter. The Eagles regrouped and put together their own 7-0 run in the closing stages but still trailed 22-20, going into the second.
Erdemir maintained its narrow lead for most of the second frame, but an Adem Ören 3-pointer from the top of the arch gave Beşiktaş Cola Turka a 35-33 edge with 3:12 remaining on the clock. Although the hosts managed to regain the lead in the dying minutes, Mire Chatman stepped out and hit a last-second jumper to help the Black and White take a 38-37 advantage into the locker room at the break.
After Erkan Veyseloğlu drove to the hoop to start the second half, Erdemir stayed ahead with a string of fast-break points from Adam Funk and Leon Williams and led 67-56 after three quarters of play.
The Black and White roared back to life in the final stanza and started to whittle away at deficit behind a series of three-pointers by the trio of Adem Ören, Haluk Yıldırım and Mire Chatman. Erdemirspor was still sitting on a 4-point cushion before a 6-0 Beşiktaş spurt put the Eagles back in front at the halfway mark. While the home side struggled to find its offensive rhythm, Mire Chatman nailed a 20-foot clutch jumper to boost the Black and White’s advantage to 78-75 entering the final two minutes.  The teams fought tooth and nail down the stretch, but thanks to Mire Chatman’s hot-hand, Beşiktaş Cola Turka prevailed in the end to emerge with a well-earned 88-82 victory.

Mire Chatman finished with a game-high 28 points while Haluk Yıldırım added 16 for the Eagles. Beşiktaş’s other scorers were Cevher Özer (12), Engin Atsür (8), Fletcher (7), Baxter (6), Adem Ören (6) and Ömer Ünver (5).
