Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball blew out the visiting Kepez Municipality, 102-72, in a Week 9 game.
The Black Eagles got off to a flying start and grabbed an early lead behind consecutive baskets by Baxter, Chatman and Cevher Özer. As the quarter rolled on, Stajonevic, Ersin and Levent combined their efforts to bring Kepez Municipality back into the game but could not prevent their team from trailing, 24-21, at the end of the first.Playing tenacious defense, the Black and White held the visitors just to 6 points in the second quarter. Right after Foster’s 5-point effort, the Eagles went on a 29-1 tear of Kepez with a flurry of threes by the hot shooting trio of Haluk Yıldırım, Chatman to open up a 26 point gap at 53-27, going into half.
Stajonevic opened the second half with back-to-back layups and helped Kepez slice the deficit to 16 points, 56-40, midway through the quarter. But Baxter teamed up with Engin and Chatman down the stretch to push the Beşiktaş’s lead back to 21, 73-52, entering the final stanza.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka continued to dominate in the fourth and never let its visitors back into the game, cruising to a comfortable 102-73 victory.
