Beşiktaş 1 – 2 CSKA Moscow

Beşiktaş went down 2-1 to CSKA Moscow in their final Champions League Group B match at Istanbul BJK İnönü Stadium. The Black and White’s lone goal came from Bobo in the 86th minute.

The match was refereed by Martin Hansson of Swedish Football Federation and a large Beşiktaş crowd backed the Eagles with their usual songs and chants until the final whistle.
The Black and White started brightly and put CSKA defence under pressure with crosses from both flanks and dangerous long-range efforts for most of the first half. But surprisingly, it was the visitors who would open the scoring after 41 minutes when Krasic found the net from 15 yards out to give the Russians a 1-0 lead that would hold until the break.
Beşiktaş brought on forwards Nihat Kahveci (68) and Uğur İnceman (77) for defenders Ekrem Dağ and Fink in the second half and frantically pushed forward for the equalizer. The tactic paid off 4 minutes from time when Bobo diverted a İbrahim Üzülmez cross into the net to level the score to 1-1. However, in stoppage time, Aldonin would fire CSKA Moscow back in front with a low drive from inside the box, with no time left for Beşiktaş to stage another comeback as the Russian side pulled off a much-needed Champions League win.
Beşiktaş finished 4th in the group with 4 points while Manchester United with an away win of 1-3 against Wolfsburg and CSKA Moscow advanced to the next round.
