Oyak Renault 91, Beşiktaş Cola Turka 99

For a Beko Basketball League Week 8 game, Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball visited Oyak Renault at Bursa Atatürk Sports Hall and walked away with a 99-91 victory.

The Black Eagles got off to a mediocre start, and despite a string of outside shots by Cevher Özer and Mire Chatman, trailed 16-14 with 3:15 to go. Nonetheless, Baxter triggered a late Beşiktaş charge with back-to-back layups to put the Black and White ahead, 25-21, going into the second quarter. After Cevher hit a pair of jumpers to start the second stanza, Beşiktaş Cola Turka used the scoring of Mire Chatman and went on to push the lead up to 51-39 at the break.
The host Oyak Renault tried to narrow the gap after the restart and managed to pull within 7 points, 65-58, on a flurry of unanswered points by Famutimi with 3:05 left on the clock. But Haluk Yıldırım unleashed a barrage of three-pointers in the closing stages to build a 71-62 cushion for Beşiktaş Cola Turka after three quarters. Heytvelt and Famutimi combined their efforts in the fourth to bring Oyak Renault back into the game, but the Eagles still controlled the momentum, fighting their way to a 99-91 victory.
