On Day 14 of the Turkcell Super League, Beşiktaş picked up a 1-0 away win at Sivasspor, with a 29th-minute goal from Bobo. The win moves them to 2nd place in the table with 30 points.
The match was played at the September the 4th Stadium in Sivas City and refereed by Bünyamin Gezer. Both teams stepped on the pitch with banners of Turkish Football Federation celebrating their fans’ Eid al-Adha holiday.
A small but vocal Beşiktaş crowd roared on their team throughout the game.
After weathering the early storm from Sivassor, the Black Eagles created chances of their own and took the lead through Bobo after 29 minutes. The goal-scorer Bobo was injured and had to be replaced by Nobre in the 43rd minute. Beşiktaş led 1-0 at half time.
The Black and Whites took complete control after the restart and pressed for a second goal but were unlucky to hit the back of the net. Although Sivasspor woke up and pushed forward for an equaliser in the closing stages, Uğur İnceman (64) and Tello (88) came on for Tabata and Nihat Kahveci (88) to strengthen the visitors defence and help Beşiktaş claim a valuable away victory.
The win has taken the Black and White into second place in the table and raised the Eagles’ point tally to 30, only one behind the league leaders Fenerbahçe.
