Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball rolled over the Bornova Municipality, 106-90, in a Week 7 game of the Beko League.

After opening the game with a Haluk Yıldırım three-pointer, the Black Eagles managed to  hold the visitors scoreless for the first 4 minutes and  rode the scoring of Cevher Özer, Lonny Baxter and Mire Chatman to take an 11-0 lead. Bornova Belediyesi got on the scoreboard on a jumper by Josh Shipp and tried to remain within striking distance with Ivan Koljevic and İhsan Yalçın Azizmahmutoğulları but still trailed 16-8 midway through the quarter. Then, thanks to back-to-back jumpers by Mire Chatman, Lonny Baxter and Cevher Özer, Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball weathered a late Bornova run to take a 29-25 lead entering the second stanza.
After İhsan Yalçın Azizmahmutoğulları made a layup to start the second, Kedrick Brown nailed a 15-foot jumper from the left wing for Bornova Municipality to tie the game at 29-29.
But, behind consecutive baskets by Lonny Baxter, Ömer Ünver and Mire Chatman, the Black and Whites rallied back with a 17-4 streak to make it 46-33 for Beşiktaş Cola Turka. The visitors refused to give up and began to chip away at the deficit with an array of inside shots by Frank Elegar, Josh Shipp and Ivan Koljevic to pull within 7, heading into the final minute of the first half. Then, İhsan Yalçın Azizmahmutoğulları sparked an 8-0 run to put the Bornova Municipality ahead, 52-51, at the intermission.
After Kedrick Brown made a layup to start the third, Bornova’s advantage was extended to 54-51. However, Beşiktaş Cola Turka regrouped quickly and went on a 14-0 spurt to reclaim an 11-point lead at 65-54. The visitors tried to comeback behind Frank Elegar but could stop Lonny Baxter and Mire Chatman from scoring, as the Eagles carried a 12-point, 74-62, edge into the fourth quarter.
The Black and White opened the final stanza with a Lonny Baxter jumper and then received back-to-back buckets from Cevher Özer and Haluk Yıldırım to retain its 12-point advantage at the halfway mark. While Bornova Municipality struggled to find a way to claw back into the game, Lonny Baxter teamed with Mire Chatman and Haluk Yıldırım to pop 3-point shots from all over the court to give Beşiktaş Cola Turka a 93-81 cushion with 3:10 to play, en route to a comfortable 106-90 win.
