The visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka lost 101-76 to Unics Kazan of Russia in its European Cup Group D opener.

The teams exchanged baskets throughout the first quarter, and the home team clung to a 26-23 advantage heading into the second. The Unics Kazan went on to outscore the Black and White 23-10 in the second stanza and managed to push the lead up to 49-33 at halftime.
Unics Kazan took complete control in the third and stretched the margin to 80-52, entering the final period of play. The Black Eagles tried hard to get back into the game in the fourth, but the Russians did not allow them get too close, as they held on to win 101-76.
