Beşiktaş 3 – 0 Fenerbahçe

Awesome Beşiktaş blanked out cross-town rival Fenerbahçe 3-0 at İnönü Stadium on Matchday Day 13 of the Turkcell Super League.

The Black Eagles, who wore jerseys with the charity organization Turkish Red Crescent’s name printed on their back for most of the season, this time advertised for ‘The Mehmetçik Vakfı,’ an army foundation.

The match started with both sides trying to gain control in midfield. Serdar Özkan and Bobo went close to drawing first blood for Beşiktaş in the opening minutes but failed to hit back of the net. As the match progressed, Fenerbahçe began to exert more pressure, but the keeper Rustu produced some brilliant saves and kept the visitors at bay. The teams settled for a goalless draw at half time.

The Black and White came out far more determined in the second half and within 10 minutes were on the scoresheet after Fink pounced on a İbrahim Üzülmez cross, hitting it on the half volley past the diving keeper’s left hand. Fenerbahçe hadn’t recovered from the shock of the goal when Beşiktaş did it again three minutes later. Bobo fired home a cracking strike from inside the area to double the home side’s lead and send the stadium into frenzy. To the delight of their fans, the Black Eagles took total control in the remaining minutes, and substitute Uğur İnceman closed the scoring on 83 minutes to help Beşiktaş run out comfortable 3-0 winners.
