Trabzonspor 0 – 2 Beşiktaş

Beşiktaş visited Trabzonspor’s Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium on Day 12 of the Turkcell Super League and came away with a 2-0 victory.

The Black and White entered the pitch with a banner that read, “If You Have Flu Stay at Home.” Before the kick-off, both teams observed a one-minute silence in memory of Beşiktaş Club Member and sports writer İlker Ateş who passed away today.
The home side started the game well and almost drew first blood with strikes from Umut Bulut, Selçuk and Colman, but keeper Hakan Arıkan made some impressive saves to deny the host a place on the score sheet. Despite Trabzonspor’s efforts, which pinned Beşiktaş in their own half, first half ended goalless.
To provide more power up front, Beşiktaş Manager Mustafa Denizli brought on Yusuf and İbrahim Kaş for Tabata and Uğur in the second half. The substitutions paid off immediately with Ernst firing home the go-ahead goal on 48 minutes. From that point on, Trabzonspor pushed hard for the equalizer, but it was not to be as the Beşiktaş back line defended frantically to hold the clean sheet. Bobo then added an insurance goal in stoppage time to preserve all three points for the visitors.
