Beşiktaş Cola Turka 88, Antalya Büyükşehir Bld. 64

Beşiktaş Cola Turka trounced the visiting Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesi, 88-64, at Cola Turka Arena in a Week 2 game of the Beko Basketball League.

The two sides traded baskets in the early going, but riding the hot shooting of guard Muratcan Güler, the Black and White gained the upper hand midway through the quarter. Then, they got consecutive buckets from Mire Chatman and Brad Newley to take a 25-18 lead at end of the first frame.
The Black Eagles carried their momentum into the second stanza and dominated both ends of the court. Matching Antalya basket for basket, they eventually tightened their defense and never allowed their visitors to get too close. Brad Newley and Cevher Özer stepped up and knocked down some big shots in the closing minutes to give Beşiktaş Cola Turka a 45-35 cushion at the break.
The Black and White opened the second half with back-to-back jumpers from all over the court and went on to stretch the lead to 60-40 at the halfway point. Antalya Büyükşehir tried to narrow the gap with Lee Jackson but was unable to overcome Beşiktaş’s aggressive defense, as it trailed 69-49 going into the final chapter of the game.
Sitting on a 20-point cushion, the Eagles continued to shine in the fourth to emerge with an impressive 88-64 victory.
While Brad Newley chipped in a game-high 21 points, Chatman (15), Baxter (11), Muratcan Güler (10), Engin Atsür (9), Cevher Özer (9); Fletcher (6), Adem Ören (5), and Haluk Yıldırım (2) also scored for Beşiktaş Cola Turka
