On Matchday 9 of the Turkcell Super League, Beşiktaş earned a 2-1 win against Kasımpaşa with first half goals from Nihat Kahveci (8) and Bobo (38). Midfielder Ernst (83) and Stopper Ferrarri (87) were both sent off late on.
The match was played at BJK Inonu Stadium and refereed by Hüseyin Göçek.The Black and White got off to a lively start and could have taken the lead had Bobo’s 7th minute flick not hit the post and come back into play. But a minute later, Striker Nihat Kahveci scored his first goal the season for Beşiktaş with a low drive from outside the box and brought the home crowd to their feet. In the 38th minute, the Black Eagles doubled their lead when Bobo drilled home a bullet off a back heel pass from Tabata. Beşiktaş went into half time with a 2-0 lead.
With a two-goal advantage, Beşiktaş resolved to hold the lead in the second half by slowing the game down and keeping the action in midfield. The Black and White brought on Serdar Özkan and Uğur İnceman for Yusuf Şimşek and Tabata in the 62nd minute to strengthen upfront. Then İbrahim Üzülmez (80) came on for Nihat Kahveci. Fabian Ernst was shown his second yellow on 83 minutes and left the Black Eagles short-handed. Three minutes later, referee Hüseyin Göçek awarded a penalty to the visitors after deciding that Ferrari pulled back Cenk inside the box. While Ferrari received a direct red card for his action, Moritz converted the penalty and reduced the deficit to 2-1, but the 9-men Beşiktaş held on in the remaining minutes to march away from Inonu with three precious points.
