Beşiktaş Cola Turka:103 Oyak Renault:57

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball hammered Oyak Renault, 103-57, at Izmir Karşıtyaka Sports hall in its Teknosa Turkish Cup second game.

Both teams struggled to put points on the board in the early going and the Black Eagles held a 4-1 edge on a pair of jumpers by Baxter three minutes into the game. Despite consecutive baskets from Alparslan Uruk and Joshua Heytvelt, they rode the hot shooting of Brad Newley and Cevher Özer to go in front, 26-19, at the end of the opening quarter.
After starting the second frame with back-to-back free throws by Cevher Özer and Kevin Fletcher, the Black and White increased the margin to 14 behind a barrage of threes from Kevin Fletcher and Brad Newley at the 13:10 mark. Oyak Renault attempted to cut the deficit with Joshua Heytvelt and Mike Rose but could not stop Beşiktaş Cola Turka’s outside shots. Thanks to a series of easy Engin Atsür layups, the Black Eagles built a 20-point cushion at 55- 35, going into halftime.
The Black and White continued to shine in the third and a 10-2 Eagles run stretched the lead to 28 points with 7:15 left to go. From that moment onwards, Oyak Renault’s defense fell apart, as the gap grew to an insurmountable 40 points at 83-43, heading into the final chapter of the play.
With three-pointers scoring from all angles, Beşiktaş Cola Turka never looked back in the fourth and led 99-51 midway through the quarter on its way to a comfortable 103-57 victory.
Kevin Fletcher scored a game-high 26 points for the Black Eagles followed by Lonny Baxter (20), Brad Newley (15),Cevher Özer (12),Kerem Özkan (11),  Engin Atsür (8), Mire Chatman (3), Ömer Ünver (3) Arın Soğancıoğlu (2), Adem Ören 2, and Muratcan Güler (1).
