Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball advanced to the quarterfinals of the Teknosa Turkish Cup with a 91-85 win over Kepez Belediyesi in its last Group A game.
Using an early 9-0 run, Kepez Belediyesi got off to a flying start and established a 15- point cushion at 27-12, heading into second. But the Black and White found its offensive flow in the second quarter and managed to pull ahead by three, 43-40, on Mire Chatman’s three-pointer at the intermission.The third stanza was a tight affair all the way that saw the Black Eagles hold onto a narrow 62-60 edge heading to fourth. Beşiktaş Cola Turka led 86-83 entering the final minute of the game, and then Mire Chatman nailed the coffin with three-pointer to give Beşiktaş Cola Turka a 91-85 victory.
The win brought the Eagles into a 3-way tie for the first place, but since they had the best scoring average in the group, they captured the top spot and moved to next round together with the runners-up Efes Pilsen.
