After capturing the Balkan Cup for the second season in a row, the Women’s Volleyball Team celebrated the victory wildly. Head Coach Bülent Karslı and players commented on the match:

Bülent Karslıoğlu:
“We are delighted to win this cup for second time in as many seasons. We came here with an All-Turkish squad made up of players from our youth organization. To top this, we’ve been training for only 6 weeks. We managed to beat the undefeated Romanian team 3-1 in the semifinal to reach the final. Then, in the final, we toppled another undefeated side; this time Klek of Serbia. We downed them by the same score to grab the Cup. On behalf of myself and my players, I would like to thank President Yıldırım Demirören, Mr. Bülent Deriş, Head of Volleyball Branch and all Board Members for their contribution, and on this Ramadan holiday, we dedicate this well-deserved victory to all our fans.
Duygu Sipahioğlu (Captain):
“I am extremely pleased to see that our preparations for this cup have paid off. Just like last year, we haven taken the tournament with an All-Turkish squad and without our international stars.  I would like thank my coaches and teammates, as well as all others involved. I also congratulate mu teammates who won individual awards; they’ve truly deserved it. I think this title will boost our confidence in our upcoming league matches. I send my greetings to all those celebrating the Ramadan holiday.”

Müge Şakar:
“First of all, I want everybody to know that I am proud to be a part of this team. We have great coaches and talented players. This Balkan title will motivate us positively in our future matches. If we keep on playing like this, we can win everything that comes our way. It is a huge honor to be named the best middle blocker of the tournament. We dedicate this cup to all our fans out there.”
Yeliz Askan:
“Our first goal this season was to win this tournament. I am pleased that we managed to achieve our objective here. We also worked real hard and deserved to finish first. It was nice to see that our efforts did not go down the drain, and we got rewarded for our hard work and determination in the end. As a player coming from Beşiktaş Youth Organization, it is a great honor to win this cup two seasons in a row—an achievement I will never forget. Being named the best hitter of the tournament is another source of pride for me. I would like thank those who made all these possible for me.”
Zeynep Seda Eryüz:
“Winning this preseason tournament will definitely have a positive impact on our future performance. It was the product of hard work and dedication. On this Ramadan holiday, this cup is going to be a nice present for all of us. I would like thank all those who played a part in achieving this great victory. Special thanks to my coaches and teammates to whom I am indebted for my selection as the best setter…”
Melis Şahin:
“For the past two months, we worked real hard for this tournament and focused solely on winning it. I am glad things worked out the way we planned. My thanks go to those who supported us till the end. I’m proud to be a part of all these. We dedicate this to all our fans as a holiday gift.”
Melis Gürkaynak:
“We opened the season earlier than our rivals just to get ready for this tournament.  We are all overjoyed to win the Balkan Cup for the second time in a row. So far, we have made a promising start into the new season, but we must show the same performance in our league matches as well.”
