Beşiktaş:0 Kayserispor:1

The Black Eagles slipped to a 1-0 defeat to visiting Kayserispor at BJK İnönü Stadium in Week 6 of the Turkcell Super League.

The Black and White applied pressure right from the start and pinned their visitors deep in their own end with accurate passing and penetrating runs.  Allowing Beşiktaş more possession, Kayserispor relied mainly on counterattacks initiated by Cangale, a game plan that caused the Eagles major problems throughout the entire game. Beşiktaş failed to get on the scoreboard first when they were unable to finish off Ekrem Dağ’s early crosses from the left flank. Both teams had their chances in the dying minutes but could not find the net, as they held their own in a goalless first 45 minutes.
Kayserispor played better defense in the second half and did not allow any penetration by the Beşiktaş forwards. While the Black and White struggled on offense, Makukula put the visitors ahead on 55 minutes following a swift Kayseri counterattack. In the immediate aftermath of the goal, Beşiktaş brought Nihat Kahveci and Fink for Serdar Özkan and Tabata and tried desperately to find the equalizer but, to no avail. After Yusuf’s 76 minute substitution for Tello, the remainder of the match was played entirely inside the visitor’s 18 yard line and the Eagles came close to leveling the score on two occasions but Fink and Nihat wasted both of them. At the end of the hotly-contested match, visiting Kayserispor ran out 1-0 winners.
