Beşiktaş Introduce Another First in Turkish Football

Having achieved many firsts during their glorious 106-year-old past, the Black Eagles have realized another one by wearing jerseys that advertised for the “Turkish Red Crescent”—a national charity organization.

Last night’s home stand against Antalyaspor on Matchday 2 of the Turkcell Super League witnessed a first in Turkish football.
The Black and White stepped on the pitch wearing jerseys with “Turkish Red Crescent” written on their back.
As Beşiktaş President Yıldırım Demirören stated before, Beşiktaş now plans to play a leadership role in this social responsibilities.
While the visitors, like all other league teams, carried their privately-owned sponsor’s name on their jerseys Beşiktaş chose to advertise the Turkish Red Crescent.
Beşiktaş President Yıldırım Demirören explained the new application: “This is the most appropriate decision for a club like Beşiktaş which is the favorite team of Turkish public. These types of socially oriented projects and initiatives will continue in coming weeks. As the President of this great club, I will always be proud to be a part of them.”
