The Double Cup triumph of our Football team is continuing to be celebrated throughout the country.

This time celebrations took place at Ankara Shreaton Hotel with a memorable evening attended by Besiktas President Yıldırım Demirören, Vice-President Ertuğrul Kumcuoğlu, Secretary General Kenan Öner, Vice President Behçet Ümitlen, Board Members Şeref Yalçın and Murat Çelik. The State and Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç who is known as a Beşiktaş supporter, State Minister Abdülkadir Aksu, Ex- Parliment Minister  Hikmet Çetin, and Ex-Defense Minister Sabahattin Çakmakoğlu, Vice- President of AK Party Hüseyin Tanrıverdi, Vice-President of National Movement Party Cihan Paçacı, and the President of Ankara Chamber of Commerce Sinan Aygün were also present at the evening.
When quizzed about his views on Besiktas’s victories Mr. Arinc replied:
“I am extremely pleased to see the Black and White win both cups. Tonight, we are going to celebrate it here. We are proud to be a Besiktas fan; we thank all those who made it possible for us from the Club President Mr. Demirören to the cleaning man in the locker room. I hope they retain these titles in the upcoming season as well.”
Accompanied by the songs of Ayşe Taş ve Demet Akalan the quests chanted “We are the Champions” all night long. During the evening, President Yıldırım Demirören disclosed that from now on extra ticket money would be collected from the wives of the Board Members that accompany their husbands to away games and distribute it to the local women who wish start up their own business. Before the closure a cake inscribed “The Eagle of The Cups” was cut to commemorate the evening.
