Title Celebrations in Izmir City

Beşiktaş’s double cup triumph was celebrated at İzmir Swissotel in a special evening attended by President Yıldırım Demirören and Board Members.

In addition to Yıldıırım Demirören, Secretary General Kenan Öner, Vice-Presidents Levent Erdoğan and Behçet Ümitlen, Board Member in Charge of Basketball Branch Şeref Yalçın, the Presidents of Local Beşiktaş Associations and a large number of quests were also present at the meeting.
The activities included a speech by the President Yıldırım Demirören:
“Dear Beşiktaş Fans from Aegean Region and İzmir City,
Welcome to our double-cup victory celebration! Before I proceed any further, I’d like to extend my thanks to those Beşiktaş Associations’ Presidents who organized this event. Yes, we rewrote our clubs glorious history this season and won two precious cups, of which, as you’d recall, one of them was lifted here in your own İzmir City. Now, its time to celebrate; but we have been carrying on our celebration activities around the country in a most civilized way and showing utmost care not to offend the others. When we were on the same flight with the losing team, we did not even celebrate. This proves what a great and thoughtful club we are. We come out to win every game and when it’s over the rest is all academic. We always maintain our composure on and off the pitch and show the others what true Beşiktaş Stand is all about. It sure has not been easy to achieve all these. I did not win these titles by myself. We did it together with our coaches and players. It was a textbook teamwork. They are the real heroes and deserve to be praised at all times; so I applaud each one of them in front of you. We have become team everyone respects and enjoys watching. We will continue to be envied next season and win many more cups.”
While the quests savored every moment of evening filled with songs of Ziynet Sali and Demet Akalın, the President Yıldırım Demirören cut the championship cake together with the Board Members.
