Beşiktaş Cola Turka 102 - 115 Galatasaray Cafe Crown

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball bowed out of the playoffs with a 115-102 loss to Galatasaray Cafe Crown at in Game 4 of its quarterfinal series.

The opening minutes of the derby at Akatlar Cola Turka Arena saw both teams matching each other point for point; as the score remained tied at 8-8 tie midway through the quarter. From that point on though, Muratcan and Cevher stepped up and knocked down some big shots to give the Black and White a four- point, 18-14, lead with less than a minute remaining in the first. Nevertheless, a last second Hüseyin Beşok layup pulled the visitors within 18-16 after one quarter of play.
In the early going of the second, Chatman and Wesson combined for 9 points to extend the Black Eagles’ edge to 27-21. Meanwhile, due to Black and White’s tight defense, Galatasaray’s offense began to falter and Beşiktaş Cola Turka wasted no time to take further advantage of it; as Mehmet Yağmur and Muratcan each took turns to unleash a barrage of threes that built a 12-point cushion at the halfway mark. But in the closing minutes, Guroviç came off the bench and triggered a late 7-0 run for the visiting squad which brought the deficit back to 4 points, 43-39, at the half.
Galatasaray Cafe Crown came out flying in the second half and went on a 10-0 spurt for a 49-43 lead with 8:05 left. The Black and White rallied back behind consecutive buckets from Haluk Yıldırım and Chatman before Wesson converted Milosevic’s technical foul and made it a 1-point game at 54-53 with 5:00 showing on the clock. Then, the game went back and forth with neither team giving ground to the other until Cevher heaved a 3-pointer at the buzzer to put the Black Eagles up, 71-69, heading into the fourth frame.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka opened the final quarter with a string of layups by Mire Chatman that widened the gap to 76-69 after three minutes. But Murat Kaya sparked a 7-0 run off the bench and knotted the score at 76-76 with 5:05 to go. While the Black and White was trying to regroup, Hüseyin Beşok and Tolliver kept hitting from outside to pull Galatasaray ahead by 5 at 81-76 with less than 3:00 remaining. However, Beşiktaş Cola Turka would refuse to give in and got 7 unanswered points from the hot-shooting duo of Muratcan Güler and Cevher Özer to reclaim the lead at 83-81 entering the final minute. Just as Beşiktaş Cola Turka was getting ready to walk off the floor with another victory, Graves drove to hoop for a layup and sent the game into overtime.
Teams stayed close for most of the overtime and the Black and White was clinging to a 93-92 advantage in the dying minutes thanks to a timely 3-pointer by Cevher Özer  But Tolliver’s 3-point shot and Atkins free-throws fired Galatasaray Cafe Crown back on top, 97-93 with less than a minute to play. Nevertheless, after Cevher buried another three from downtown, Chatman added a free throw in the closing seconds, as the game headed into second overtime.
The visiting team took complete control in the second overtime and used a 17-2 rally for a comfortable 115-100 victory which enabled the visitors to advance to the semis with a 3-1 series win.
