Galatasaray Cafe Crown 80 - 66 Beşiktaş Cola Turka

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball dropped an 80-66 decision to Galatasaray Cafe Crown and fell behind 2-0 in its semifinal series.

The Black and White opened the game with a starting line up consisting of Chatman, Muratcan, Baxter, Cevher and Wesson; and thanks to Cevher’s hot hand, raced to an early 5-2 lead. But Galatasaray came back and tied the game at 7-7 midway through the quarter. Then, the yellow and red host side used a 15-1 run to pull in front 22-11 with 2:15 left. The Black Eagles tried to close the gap in the dying minutes but still trailed 24-16 after one quarter.
Galatasaray Cafe Crown appeared to be in full control for most of the second frame and capitalized on Beşiktaş Cola Turka’s poor shooting and unforced turnovers, building a 15-point cushion at 45-30 by halftime.
At the outset of the second half, our boys in Black and White roared back to life; as they reeled off a 10-0 run behind consecutive fast-break baskets from Chatman and Muratcan that brought Beşiktaş within 45-40 with 5:00 remaining. Despite scoring its first point on a free-throw by Hüseyin nearly five minutes into the third, Galatasaray would eventually find its offensive rhythm and lead 55-47 entering the final quarter.
The home team carried its momentum into the fourth and cruised to a comfortable 80-66 win to grab a 2-0 edge in the series.
