In the aftermath of Beşiktaş’s convincing 4-2 Turkish win against cross-town rival Fenerbahçe that brought them the 2008-09  Fortis Turkish Cup , the Black and White put on their victory t-shirts and took a lap around the pitch to celebrate with the fans, carrying their Technical Director Mustafa Denizli on their shoulders along the way.

Some of the players shared their feelings with us:
İbrahim Üzülmez: “We are extremely delighted with this win. It means a lot to us because we lost both our league against them. I guess, we are even right now. We could’ve scored more goals, but we are still satisfied with this score. Scoring 4 goals in a cup final is no small thing. I dedicate this victory to all our fans. Now, it is time to lift the League Cup.”
Gökhan Zan: “Up till now, we’ve won three out of four Fortis Turkish Cups. Winning the Turkish Cups is becoming a habit for us. I congratulate everyone involved—especially our Coach Mustafa Denizli and President Yıldırım Demirören. We achieved one of our two objectives of the season. Now, we must win our remaining 3 League matches and grab the League title as well.”
Tello: “I am thrilled for winning my first title in Turkey. I hope we carry this momentum into our remaining league games and claim both titles at the end of the season.”
Nobre: “I felt good after the game. My injury seems to have healed completely. We deserved to win this cup because we played our hearts out. I am overjoyed to be a part of this team.”
