Beşiktaş 1- 2 Fenerbahçe

Beşiktaş fell 2-1 to Fenerbahçe at Inönü Stadium on Day 30 of the Turkcell Super League.

In an Istanbul derby refereed by Yunus Yıldırım, a full house of Beşiktaş faithfull cheered their favorite team on throughout 90 minutes.
While the Black and White stepped on the pitch with a banner that read, “We commemorate Semih Balaban and all the other terrorism martyrs,” a giant Turkish flag in the stands called for a strong stand against separatists.
A one-minute pre-game silence was observed in memory of the recent martyrs who sacrificed their lives in war against terrorism.
In order to deny their archrival any time on the ball, Beşiktaş applied early pressure and attacked from both flanks that pinned the visitors in their own end. Despite the Black and White’s scoring threat, Fenerbahçe, which had been relying solely on counterattacks, managed to go ahead in the 32nd minute through Guiza. The first half ended, 1-0, in favor of the visitors.
Although the Black and White replaced Delgado and Gökhan Zan with Cisse and Yusuf Şimşek to provide more teeth up front, Semih Şentürk made it 2-0 for Fenerbahçe on 54 minutes. After Holosko pulled one back for Beşiktaş in the 64 minute with a bullet from outside the box, the Black and White went all out for the equalizer but was unable to find the back of the net; as Fenerbahçe ran out 2-1 victors.
The loss kept Beşiktaş in the second place with 59 points, a point behind Sivasspor, who also suffered a defeat this weekend.
