Beşiktaş U16 Women’s Basketball Team grabs Istanbul Title with a hotly-contested 62-60 victory over archrival Fenerbahçe at Bayrampaşa Sports Hall in a hard-fought playoff final.

After knocking Galatasaray out  in the semifinal round, the Lady Black and White made a fine start into the final and went on to establish an 18-14 lead at the end of opening quarter. Beşiktaş continued its dominance in the second and held a 34-30 advantage at the intermission.
Fenerbahçe came back in the third and was ahead by 8 points at one time, but  the Black and White managed to recover in the closing minutes  to take a slim 48-47 edge into the fourth . The final stanza continued as a close up and down affair with the teams locked in a 60-60 tie heading into final seconds. Nevertheless, a Hande Melis Karasu lay-up with 2 seconds left on the clock was sufficent enough to bring the Istanbul U16 title to Beşiktaş.
