Beşiktaş Cola Turka:62 Fenerbahçe:84

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball went down 84-62 to Fenerbahçe at Kayseri Kadir Has Sports Hall in the quarterfinal of the Teknosa Turkish Cup and made an early exist from the tournament.

The teams traded baskets and stayed close in the early going before Fenerbahçe went on a 6-0 run midway through the first to grab a 4-point advantage. But the Lady Black and White answered back with consecutive outside jumpers from Branzova and De Forge to remain within striking distance. Then, Naile knocked down a 15-foot fadeaway and put Beşiktaş Cola Turka up, 17-16, entering the final minute. Nevertheless, with 11 seconds showing on the clock, Sutton Brown drove to the hoop for a layup to give Fenerbahçe a narrow 18-17 edge after a quarter of play.
The yellow and dark blue cross-town rivals opened the second quarter with 6 unanswered points and displayed solid defense to keep the Black and White away from the basket. While Birsel Vardarlı and Nevriye Yılmaz dominated the painted area, Esmeral Tunçluer started hitting from outside to build a comfortable 42-26 cushion for Fenerbahçe before the teams headed into their lockers rooms at the half.
The third quarter continued along the same path, as Smith and Nevlin kept pouring it in from behind the arch to extend Fenerbahçe’s lead to 63-39 entering the final stanza.
The Lady Black and White found its shooting stroke in the fourth, but staked to a comfortable cushion, Fenerbahçe never let its crosstown rival get back into the game and cruised to a 84-62 victory that eliminated Beşiktaş Cola Turka from this season’s Teknosa Turkish Cup.
