“Coming into the game, we knew it was gonna be a difficult one; because if Kocaeli won today, they would increase their hopes of avoiding relegation. The first half was probably our worst performance of the season. We want to put it behind us as soon as we get home. We appeared to be all at sea in the first 45 minutes, emitting panic and indecision. Yes, we were missing some key players due to injuries and fines; but I wasn’t expecting to see my players looking that bad out there. Luckily, it was a different story in the second half. We settled down and started playing our usual game. The thing I like most about us is that we never give up until the final whistle. Despite trailing deep into the second half, we refused to surrender and managed to comeback and win the match. From now on, we will put forth a stronger effort to overcome poor first-half performances.  Anyone who thinks Kocaelispor is an easy team to beat is mistaken—especially on their home turf.
We did not sign Erkan, so he could sit on the bench forever. Today, I would either start with Cisse and Erkan or Holosko and Uğur. I chose the former pair to keep our bench stronger down the stretch.”
