Dear Beşiktaş Fans,
It is with great pleasure that I am addressing you today as a president who has kept his promises. The dream of people who have been supporting Beşiktaş, our source of pride, that has an history of approximately 106 years, the BJK Fulya Süleyman Seba Sports Complex, has finally opened its doors to public.
We shared the pleasure of inaugurating this unique project with a diverse cross-section of our community members that included the Turkish President Abdullah Gül, our Honorary President Süleyman Seba, the eldest Beşiktaş Council Member and a large group of young players from our youth organization. One particular issue has been the center piece for me and my administration since the first day of my presidency: “If we stand together and act in real solidarity, nothing is going to prevent us from achieving our objectives.” I think this sums up our recent success nicely.
Let’s also not forget that trophies and victories come and go. The important thing is to make them lasting through continuing investment in sports facilities. I have no doubt the new BJK Fulya Complex will soon start generating much-needed additional income for our club in today’s dire economic times.
We have also taken a giant step forward toward launching our İnonü Stadium Renovation Project as we’ve promised. Thanks to a fruitful meeting with Prime Minister Erdoğan, in which he declared his support for the project, the construction will get underway as soon as the season ends.
On behalf of all Beşiktaş Fans, I take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Mr. Erdoğan.
We have been working day and night to launch new projects for our beloved Beşiktaş. I love the passion and devotion that I see in my colleagues’ eyes these days. In fact, we are all united by a common goal. We a have finally become a team that has great unity on and off the pitch. This explains why we have been winning some games lately. If we can maintain this momentum, we’ll be well on our way to achieving all our targets for the year 2009.
Dear Beşiktaş Fans,
Believe me I can see the light at the end of the tunnel... Please, do not pay any attention to what our rivals do or say and start walking toward that light with us. The day we’ve been all anxiously waiting for is getting nearer each passing day …
With kindest regards,
Yıldırım Demirören
Chairman of the Board, Beşiktaş JK
