Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball falls, 96-84, to Türk Telekom at Akatlar Cola Turka Arena in a Week 22 contest of the Beko Turkish Basketball League.
Visiting Türk Telekom got off to a fast start and jumped out to an 8-2 lead two minutes into the quarter on a couple of three-pointers by Bekir Bajramovic. Then Tutku sparked a 10-0 run that gave the representatives from Ankara City an 18-5 advantage at the halfway point. The Black and White came back to cut to deficit to 20-12 with 7 straight points; but Barış and Tutku kept pouring it in down the stretch to help Türk Telekom build a 31-16 cushion entering the second frame.Mehmet Yağmur tried to bring Beşiktaş Cola Turka back into the game early in the second, but the gap ballooned to 39-27 at the 13:00 mark. Haluk Yıldırım came off the bench and pulled the Black and White within 6 at 43-37 with 4:15 left. Then Baxter’s three capped a late Beşiktaş Cola Turka rally to put the Black and White up, 50-49 going into the locker room at the half.
The blue and white visiting team regained its momentum in the third and went on a 9-0 run to take a 58-50 lead three minutes into the second half. While the Black and White struggled offensively, Türk Telekom used Tutku’s assists and Serkan’s free-throws to stretch the margin to 65-52 at the midway mark. Beşiktaş Cola Turka sought to erase the deficit in the dying minute, but the visitors held a 10-point, 76-66, edge after three quarters of play.
Turk Telekom carried its momentum into the fourth and unleashed a barrage of three-pointers to open up an 18-point lead halfway through the final stanza. Beşiktaş Cola Turka would make a last-ditch attempt in the closing stages to climb back into the game; but the visitors held off the Black and White’s late rally to walk away with a convincing 96-84 victory.
