Beşiktaş Cola Turka Women’s Basketball Team defeated Panküp TED, 71-61, at Akatlar Cola Turka Arena in a Week 20 game of the Beko Turkish Basketball League.
Thanks to Gergane Branzova’s hot hand, the Black and White got off to a blistering start and went on to build a 17-7 cushion midway through the opening quarter. Nilay and Anderson made consecutive buckets to bring TED Kayseri within striking distance; but Beşiktaş Cola Turka managed to carry a 25-15 lead into second quarter.After Nilay Yiğit converted a layup to start the second frame, Ashley Khristina Robinson, Nazlı Güler and Naile İvegin hit back-to-back jumpers to cut the deficit; but Liron Kohen responded with a barrage of three-pointers to keep Beşiktaş Cola Turka’s 10-point edge intact at 31-21 entering the second part of the quarter. The Black and White stretched the lead in the closing minutes and held onto a 47-29 advantage going into the locker room at the half.
Panküp TED Kayseri opened the second half with a string of unanswered points, but the Black and White eventually tightened its defense and led 55-35 at the halfway point. Although, Nazlı Güler sought to trim the margin, Beşiktaş Cola Turka was up, 59-44, after three quarters of play.
Resorting to its bench frequently, the Black and White continued to dominate the game in the fourth to emerge with a 71-61 victory.
