In the aftermath of Beşiktaş’s 3-1 Turkish Cup win against Ankaraspor, our Technical Director Mustafa Denizli talked about the Black and White’s performance:

“We have a good track record in the Fortis Turkish Cup, and we intend to keep it going.
Except a handful positions, we are trying to build a team in which each player can play several positions competently. Tonight’s result proves that we are on the right track.
We have been taking giant strides toward becoming both a real team and a formidable contender to whom our rivals pay their respect. It doesn’t matter whether they are on the starting lineup or not, all our 18 players are ready to assume responsibility out there anytime they are needed. With a team like this, we are looking into the future more confidently. 
Tonight’s score has given us a significant advantage for the second leg. We hope to repeat this performance in the return match and reach the final and it seems to me that this team will achieve this.”
