BJK Fulya Süleyman Seba Complex opened its doors to general public with a splendid ceremony.  During the opening ceremony, which was also attended by the President Abdullah Gül, the quests shared some memorable moments they will never forget.

Our President Yıldırım Demirören and Board Members greeted the guests at the door. Beşiktaş’s Honorary President Süleyman Seba, who was accompanied by President Demirören and former Parliament Speaker Hikmet Çetin, received a warm applause when he entered the venue.
A large group of celebrities from Turkish sports, art and political world all took part in the opening. They included: President Abdullah Gül, State Minister Egemen Bağış, Semra Özal, the wife of Turkey’s 8th President Turgut Özal, the President of Galatasaray Football Club Adnan Polat, Honorary President of Koç Holding Rahmi Koç, Prominent Businessman Şadan Kalkavan, Beşiktaş Mayor Ismail Ünal, singer Orhan Gencebay, comedian Yılmaz Erdoğan, actor Zafer Algöz and famaous television star Tarık Ünlüoğlu.
In addition to  our Football Team’s Technical Director Mustafa Denizli and players  İbrahim Üzülmez,  Mert Nobre, İbrahim Toraman, Rüştü Reçber, Holosko, Sivok, Ekrem Dağ, Erkan Zengin, Bobo, Zapotocny and Uğur İnceman, various players from our Basketball, Volleyball, and Physically Disabled Teams, participated  in the ceremony.
CEREMONY HOSTED BY ORHAN ERTANHAN
The opening ceremony of the complex started at 18:50 with Orhan Ertenhan’s short address. During Ertenhan’s speech, the picture of Atatürk shown next to Beşiktaş emblem on the screen received thunderous applause from the guests. After his address, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Greatest Beşiktaş Fan of all times and the Founder of Turkish Republic along with his comrades and departed Beşiktaş supporters. Then all joined together in singing our national anthem.  A slide show depicting Beşiktaş’s one hundred years old history followed the national anthem. Finally, a video film introduced the new BJK Fulya Süleyman Seba Complex to the quests.
CONTRACTOR YAŞAR AŞÇIOĞLU TAKES THE FLOOR
The Chairman of Aşçıoğlu Construction Company Yaşar Aşcıoğlu said he and his firm were really proud of taking part in this project that ensured a brighter future for Beşiktaş. He, then, invited some of his construction team to the stage as invisible heroes of the project that drew a warm applause from everybody.
PRESIDENT DEMIRÖREN’S ADDRESS
Beşiktaş’s current President Yıldrım Demirören’s speech is as follows:
‘‘Dear Guests,
Welcome to one of the most historic events of Beşiktaş!
Today, our beloved Beşiktaş is taking another giant step towards becoming a first class world club. 
Our 50-year old dream has finally come true.
From Hakkı Yeten to Mehmet Üstünkaya, from Süleyman Seba to Serdar Bilgili all our former presidents had played an important role in bringing this project to its successful conclusion.
Hakkı Yeten rented the project land for us. Mehmet Üstünkaya completed its infrastructure. Süleyman Seba brought us its deed and constructed the camping facility. And Serdar Bilgili prepared plans for a major project.
And my administration has the honor of concluding and making it a reality. I am having trouble finding the adequate words to express my feelings right now. But I can tell you this: we all take pride in being a part of the opening ceremony of a project initiated by our past presidents.
Dear Guests,Today, we are gathered here to share the pride of a great achievement. Today, we are opening a new chapter in Beşiktaş’s history. This chapter will make our club stronger than ever; so before going any farther, I would like to thank all those who have contributed to this outstanding project in their own way. 
In today’s globalized world, the competition has become really fierce. If you want to succeed in international arena, you must constantly launch new projects to find new and alternative resources, as they are hard to come by nowadays.
As a club of first, Beşiktaş has always been a role model for others to follow in Turkey. And the BJK Fulya Süleyman Seba Project sets a good example to prove our point.
When we take a closer look at our history, we come across some great leaders who correctly envisioned that one day our Beşiktaş would face new challenges on a variety of sportive, administrative and financial issues here at home and broad.
However, in our 106-year-old history, Beşiktaş administrations have always managed to come up with right answers and mark a milestone in Turkish sports.
Of course, to remain atop the Turkish sports over the years has not been an easy task to accomplish and often required proper planning, execution and sacrifice just like our young Turkish republic.
Besides the sports, Beşiktaş Club has also experienced the great wars, economical and political crisis, social revolutions and changes and kept abreast of ongoing developments in the last 100 years history of our country. For nearly 5 generations, our club has witnessed significant changes on many fronts and had to adapt some of them to stay healthy and competitive.   
This financially profitable complex, which is surely the first of its kind in Turkey, has shown to the whole world that the future of sports is safe in Turkey; and contrary to the common belief, the real admiral ship of Turkish sports is no other than Beşiktaş.
As the management of Turkey’s most popular team, we will continue to launch new projects and work hard to become household name in world sports.’’
SÜLEYMAN SEBA’S SPEECH DRAWS WARM APPLAUSE
After Yıldırım Demirören, our Honorary President Süleyman Seba took the floor under standing ovation and made the following address, which was frequently interrupted by warm applause: 
‘‘Dear die-hard Beşiktaş Fans,
I do not have to tell you how difficult it has been to make this valuable project a reality, because you probably know it. But a true Beşiktaş fan also knows that any step taken towards creating a regular source of income for our club is worth the sacrifice. Together with all present and past board and club members, we finally brought the project to its conclusion. My thanks go out to all those who took part in this tiring but extremely satisfying achievement. Our Club’s history will never forget them. I hope BJK Fulya Complex will also bring good luck to Beşiktaş.’’  
PRAISE FROM MINISTER EGEMEN BAĞIŞ
In his address, the State Minister Egemen Bağış said, ‘‘I am actually a fervent supporter of rival club Fenebahçe Club, but this unque project has made me proud of Beşiktaş. Just like our European Union projects, the BJK Fulya Süleyman Seba Complex has united us once again. It will not only help Beşiktaş financially but set a real example for other clubs. I am delighted to take part in this memorable occasion.     
PRIME MINISTER ERDOĞAN’S MESSAGE
The Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated all those who made Beşiktaş’s long-awaited dream come true with a special message. 
PRESIDENT GÜL ATTENDS THE OPENING CEREMONY
The Turkish President Abdullah Gül, who is known to be a Beşiktaş supporter, also received a long-lasting standing ovation from the guests when he entered the hall with Beşiktaş President Demirören.
Revealing that he had to cut his meeting with Egyptian President Mubarek short to attend the opening ceremony, President Gul added: “Although I previously saw the pictures of the complex in the papers, I didn’t know it would be this gigantic in reality. I think it has an enormous potential and every club should study it closely, especially in these dire economic conditions. I take this opportunity to congratulate all its past and present contributors. I think the project deserves to be called ‘‘Süleyman Seba Complex,” because without his support it would never get off the ground.’’
CAKE CUTTING CEREMONY
After presenting commemorative plaques to those who made the project a reality, Beşiktaş President Yıldırım Demirören, our Honorary President Süleyman Seba, Semra Özal, widow of 8th Turkish President, State Minister Egemen Bağış, former Parliament Speaker Hikmet Çetin, Beşiktaş Mayor İsmail Ünal and Chairman of Demirören Group Erdoğan Demirören all gathered around a cake, which was shaped as a mini- replica of the BJK Fulya Süleyman Seba Complex, to take part in the cake cutting ceremony.  The memorable event ended with a special drum show by the world-famous Anatolian Fire Dance Group.
